International Education Day !!

In recognition of the role of education in peace and development, the United Nations General Assembly has declared January 24 as International Education Day.

Education changes lives.  But education must also be transformed to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.

As we all know: the path to progress without education is incomplete.  Therefore, we are trying to educate everyone and make this world prosperous.

Education is not just about knowledge and skills.  We need to shape future leaders by incorporating the values we want in our society - integrity, honesty, kindness, commitment, dignity - and the ingredients to heal our world.

Currently , everybody must be aware, about 258 million children and young people worldwide still do not go to school.  Education is a human right, a common good and a public responsibility.

As Albert Einstein once said, "Education is all that remains after one forgets what one learned in school."

Education is one of the first steps towards empowerment, gaining the knowledge, critical thinking and skills needed to make this world a better place.

On the occasion of International Education Day 2022, the agenda of our trust is to showcase the most important transformations that need to be nurtured to realize the fundamental right of all to an inclusive, equitable and quality education.

#saftrustindia has been working for almost 15 years to make education accessible to children from vulnerable and marginalized communities in all parts of India.

On the theme of "Changing Course, Changing Education", this year we will celebrate International Education Day by spreading the awareness that learning is the only thing that quenches the thirst for curiosity.

We believe that in order to be successful, any educational intervention must have a holistic perspective and work not only with children but also with parents and teachers.

Encourage not only systematic study, but also critical thinking, curiosity, moral courage, and physical and mental health.

Remember what the UN leader said today:

"The time has come to rekindle our collective commitment to education.

That means investing in comprehensive programs to help students recover from learning loss.

On this International Day of Education, I call on all to stand together around education as a public good and as a higher political priority for recovery and beyond. "-

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres

We would like to draw your attention to the possibility of children with intellectual disabilities being excluded from their basic right to education.

Globally, 65 million kids of primary school age are out of school - about half are disabled.

We completely agree with UNESCO that this is a human rights violation.  That is unacceptable.

Today I take some time to celebrate the perseverance of students and teachers around the world.

Over the past year, pandemic education has introduced several new barriers — some students have faced school closures, while others have had to find a way to set up remote learning via radio or cell services.

It is a sad fact that girls are particularly vulnerable in times of crisis: Worldwide, early studies predict that 20 million girls of secondary school age will never return to school because of an epidemic.  We can not allow that to happen.  They do everything they can to keep girls in school.

Happy day dears
