A two-year-old boy regains his ability to walk after taking a drug worth Rs 16 crore.

This rare blessing was given to a boy of Indian descent who was suffering from a rare neuro muscular disease.

The child was given a gene-therapeutic drug worth S $ 29 lakh (Rs 16 crore).  The baby's treatment was funded through crowdfunding.

About 30 million Singapore dollars were raised in this way.

The whole country stood together for the medicine of Devadaan Devarajan, the only son of Dave Devarajan and Shu Wen Devarajan, both of Indian descent and a civil service officer.

The baby was prescribed by doctors a solution called Solzhensma, one of the most expensive drugs in the world.

The baby could not walk or even sit properly until the medication was taken.  But now the baby's parents say they are amazed to see the baby walking and cycling.

Devadaan was also diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy, which causes muscle weakness.  The disease is diagnosed when the baby is one month old.

Devadan started treatment in September 2021 after receiving the required amount of medicine.

Devdaan's parents said they were grateful to everyone who paid for the baby's treatment
