India is about to embrace another Level of Space Exploration
As we step into 2022, ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) is already drawing closer to it's Gaganyaan program.
Keep in mind that ISRO has planned a maiden uncrewed Orbital Launch for Gaganyaan spacecraft to be on June 2022, and the crewed Spaceflight in 2023.
To meet the demand of this mission, ISRO is already preparing with advanced Propulsion system.
What effort has the organization made so far for the Gaganyaan program?
ISRO has been working on Cryogenic Engine for it's next historic space missions.
On January 12, 2022, the space ageny conducted the fourth qualification test of the Cryogenic Engine. This test was successfully as it last for about 720 seconds before shutdown.
ISRO carried out the experiment at ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC), located at Mahendragiri, Tamil Nadu.
After the test, the engineers working on the project observed closely and realized that the Cryogenic Engine met the test goals. The final engine parameters also matched with the initial prediction during the whole process.
The success of this experiment has made the future of ISRO Gaganyaan missions to be more exciting than ever.
ISRO engineers can now trust the Cryogenic engine for the Uncrewed and Crewed space missions of the Gaganyaan program.
But before the engine will be used for space missions, it still has to undergo additional four testing that may last up to 1810 seconds.
ISRO is working extra hard to achieve a great milestone using this Cryogenic Engine.
Let's wish them success and they work towards making the future of space exploration more exciting and secured for the sake of humanity.
Let us rewind our clocks back to 1979. Dr. Kalam was the Project Director of the SLV mission and Prof. SatishDhawan was the Chairman of ISRO at that time. This was the first time India was building its own rocket launch vehicle in Sri Harikota. After ten years of hard struggle, they were ready to launch their first experimental rocket. In the first stage, everything worked fine. In the second stage, a problem developed. Instead of the satellite going into orbit, the whole rocket system plunged into the Bay of Bengal. It was a big failure.
The whole world media was waiting for the press meet curious to know what had happened. Dr. Kalam was very frightened to face the media and answer their criticism of wasting millions of people's money.
Prof. Satish Dhawan took the blame for the team's failure and said "We failed! But I have a very good trust in my team that next time we will be succeeding for sure" and made everyone believe in the team.
Next year, the same team led by Dr. Kalam successfully launched Rohini RS-1 into orbit! This time Prof. Satish Dhawan asked Dr. Kalam to conduct the press conference.
The rest is history as we know it. Dr. Kalam led many more successful launches and became the 'Missile Man of India'. This would not have happened without what Prof.Satish Dhawan did on the day of failure. Leadership is not just about 'leading' someone to achieve a task but it is about 'empowering' someone to achieve far greater deeds.
