"Do you know who I am? I am Major Mohit Sharma, 1st PARA Special Force"!
His mother asked, serving food to Major Mohit, who came home on leave after two months later. "How is Army work in Kashmir?".
Mohit looked at his mother's face and said with a small smile, "Easier than , engineering ".

I believe it’s our duty as filmmakers to identify such heroes whose lives will not just inspire the current youth but also tell them about the sacrifices made by our special forces."
He infiltrated Hizbul Mujahideen under the alias of Iftikhar Bhatt, and was martyred in action on March 21, 2009, while leading the Bravo Assault Team in Kupwara district, Kashmir.
In 1995, Major Mohit Sharma left his Engineering studies and joined the NDA. After completing his academics studies in NDA, he joined the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in 1998. He was commissioned a lieutenant on 11 December 1999 and his first posting was Hyderabad in 5th Battalion. The Madras Regiment (5 Madras). On completing 3 successful years of Military service, Major Mohit opted for the Para (Special Forces) and he became a trained Para Commando in June 2003.
Major and wife On March 21, 2009, he engaged in an encounter with militants in the Hafruda forest of the Kupwara sector of Jammu and Kashmir. He killed four militants and rescued two teammates in the process but sustained multiple gunshot wounds and sacrificed himself for the motherland. For this act, he was posthumously awarded the Ashoka Chakra, which is the highest peace time military decoration in India.
In 2019, Delhi Metro Corporation renamed the Rajendra Nagar metro station as "Major Mohit Sharma (Rajendra Nagar) metro station".
