For her son, a martyr;  this mother built a monument with a statue;  Guardian of the country



 A mother builds a monument to her son who was martyred for the country in the Naxal attack and preserves it like gold. 

The statue was erected in the village of Perva Aara in Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh in memory of Basil Toppo, a police constable who was martyred.



 The mother maintains the monument like a temple.  During the holidays, villagers also come here to pay homage to the hero by offering flowers. 

The parents built such a monument in the village in memory of their martyred son. 

Basil joined the Chhattisgarh Police Force in 2007 at the age of 26.  Basil was martyred in a Maoist attack in 2011.



 Despite many requests from parents to have a memorial for their son, there has been no positive response from the authorities. 

Later, the parents bought their own land and erected a statue of their son there.



The statue of the son is made in the form of a guard with a gun.  Special events are also organized on important days of the country and village festivals. 

It is now customary for girls and women to tie rakhi on the hand of the guardian idol.
