India has a total of 4120 MLAs and 462 MLCs, making a total of state assemblies : 4,582 legislators .

An MLA spends around Rs 2 lakh per month, including salary allowance. in other words

91 crore 64 lakhs per month. Accordingly, it is about `1100 crore per annum.

India has a total of 776 MPs, including the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.
These MPs are paid Rs 5 lakh per month including salary allowance.
That is, the total monthly salary of MPs is 38 crore 80 lakhs. 465 crore 60 lakh per annum as salary allowance to these MPs.
That is, 15 billion 65 crore 60 lakh rupees are spent every year behind the MLAs and MPs in India.

That means about 30 billion rupees is being spent on these MLAs and MPs.
Now look at the salaries of the security personnel deployed in their security.
