Every year on February 4 people across the world observe World Cancer Day in order to create awareness, inspire change and reduce the global impact of cancer. The aim is to reduce misconceptions surrounding cancer and the prejudices associated with it, to help people in getting the right information about it.

No doubt, the journey is tough but the real fighters are those who are battling cancer. They personify how we, the people, are greater than an illness.

On this World Cancer Day, EXPERTS sends encouragement to everyone who is fighting cancer.

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), it is possible to prevent one-third of common cancers by following a healthy lifestyle.

A well-balanced diet, physical exercise, and maintaining an age-appropriate and height-appropriate weight can help to ward off some types of cancer.

It’s easier to stop something happening in the first place than to repair the damage after it has happened. Prevention is better than cure, although early detection can help save lives.

World Cancer Day theme is “Close the Care Gap”. The theme aims to raise awareness about the vast difference in cancer care and prevention that people from different sections of society can avail.

There is no time for negative energy during cancer, you need to be around people who inspire, challenge and make you better

Dr. Nikhil Gulavani says we all have a hand in reducing cancer cases and mortality rates via awareness, education, early detection, and proper treatment.
