Union Budget: Largest Allocation for ISRO 

In the 2022 Union Budget, Rs 13,700 crore has been earmarked for the country's space missions. 

The money will be used for space missions to Gaganyan, the Sun and Venus, and Chandrayaan-3. 

In the budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmal Sitharaman on Tuesday, the Ministry of Science and Technology was allotted Rs 14,217.46 crore for the financial year 2022-23.


This is an increase of `833 crore over the figures for the financial year 2021-22.  In the previous budget, it was Rs 13,438 crore.

The budget of `14,217.46 crore will be allocated between the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Biotechnology and the Department of Science and Industry Research.



The largest allocation of `6,000 crore will be made to the Department of Science and Technology. 

2,581 crore to the Department of Biotechnology and Rs. 5,636.46 crore to the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research for the new financial year.

ISRO chief S.  The Somnath-led space department has been allocated Rs 13,700 crore in the 2022 budget. 

This is about Rs 1000 crore more than last year.  The budget allocation has been increased for Aditya L1, a mission to the Sun, a mission to Venus and Gaganyan.

 The Center has announced a number of pilot projects to combat climate change and plans to enable better green energy. 

The Finance Minister has sanctioned Rs 3,030 crore to the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change. 

In the previous year's budget, Rs 2,520 crore was allocated for the ministry. 

The Government will spend `78.62 crore on environmental knowledge to create awareness among the people about the impact of climate change.



An additional allocation of `19,500 crore will be made to facilitate domestic production to increase the installed solar capacity of 280 GW by 2030. 

The finance minister also announced in the budget four pilot projects to convert coal into energy. 

The Ministry of Geology has been allotted `54873.66 crore in the 2022 budget as against` 52189.07 crore in the last financial year.
